WHO WE ARE
We are Democrats because we believe in social justice and equal rights.
We believe it should not matter who you are, what you look like, what neighborhood you grew up in—every person deserves an equal opportunity at success.
We believe quality education is a public good to which every child has an equal right and that support for our public schools should reflect this commitment. And we believe access to quality healthcare should not be determined by the size of your bank account.
We are Democrats because we are proud that we are considered the Big Tent Party where we embrace diversity in individuals as well as opinions.
We are Democrats because we believe that we should be supporting and helping businesses be successful, but that relationship should be a two-way street. We do not believe that multi-billion-dollar corporations always make decisions based upon what is best for their workers. Therefore those workers have the right to organize, make their voices heard, and have a seat at that table.
We are Democrats because we believe in fair and free elections, but the road to get there was long and bloody. We believe that we have come too far from the days of property ownership requirements, Jim Crow, and women’s suffrage to go back. And for that reason we must continue to fight to maintain free and fair elections devoid of any attempts at voter suppression.
